Hello Lumberjack Families,
My name is Luke Barth, and I am honored to serve Wausau East High School as your interim principal! Over the next year my goal is to continue to drive our Lumberjack traditions and strive for excellence. I hold education as the cornerstone of opportunity and collectively we can reach our goals as a Wausau East community.
My wife, Renee, and I have an adventurous family. When I am not at school, I can be found supporting our sons' athletic teams, sitting in a deer stand, casting for panfish, boating on the water, hunting with our German Shorthair, Kenai, or watching an event at Wausau East. Our family has a love for travel, all aspects of the outdoors, games, sports, and being actively involved in community events. We have lived in Alaska, snorkeled in the Caribbean Sea, caught walleye in Canada, and have experienced different cultures in many states/regions. Renee is a Wausau East graduate and former social studies educator, but has pursued building a career in photography. Renee B Photography was started 10 years ago, and she has not looked back. Our three boys are also a part of the Wausau School District. Kailer is at Wausau East as a 10th grader, Laken is in 8th grade at Horace Mann, and Becklin is a 5th grade student at Riverview Elementary. All three are actively involved in many co-curricular opportunities and look forward to getting involved in many more within the Wausau School District.
I have been actively involved in public education for the past 18 years and look forward to providing support, advocacy, and continuing initiative development with Wausau East High School. I began my career as a special education teacher within the Eau Claire Area School District in 2005 and then had an opportunity in 2012 to begin my administrative career. My administrative tenure has been the head principal for the Abbotsford Middle/High School and Bloomer Middle School. Most recently, I was an associate principal for the Eau Claire North High School, a position I held for the past seven school years and the past two school years at Wausau East.
Wausau East has a mission to "positively impact the future by helping students reach their full potential in a rigorous learning environment of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence". One of my goals is to work with all Wausau East stakeholders and drive success collaboratively and collectively for our students. I look forward to fostering positive relationships with the students, faculty, and families of Wausau East High School.
Lumberjack Pride!
Mr. Luke Barth
